Phew! What a year it was! Many of you will be happy to finally close this chapter. Is there a better way to close it and open the New Year, if not in style? I feel that there is a strong sense of optimism that we are ready to receive as we begin our new beginnings in our best light. Classic cocktail dresses
They say that we are born again every morning. If that’s the matter, a fresh reboot in a classic cocktail dress wouldn’t be a bad feeling!
A figure-hugging silhouette, expensive materials, and a good level of opulence are the perfect recipe for a stunning New Year’s look!
A must-have combination of mine was a slip dress in jewel tones (I found mine in a vintage shop, but I tied a similar one!), Stuart Weitzman shoes and a classic Chanel tweed bag !
Pair your special dress (I have a few of these below) with sheer heels (like this one) for understated glamour and you’re good to go! What kind of classic cocktail dress do you like right now, even if it stays indoors?
All Black
If you don’t want to make too much effort, but still want to look good, try opting for LBD and black suit styles! Not only are they elegant in the T, but you can reuse the looks by changing your accessories.
If you are like me, a blazer will be worn for New Year’s Eve. This style is ideal for those who do not feel a dress for this occasion. I’m wearing a black vintage blazer (although I’ve tied a similar one) and the slip skirt is Anine Bing, which is paired with my white Stuart Weitzman heels.
All-black styles breathe sophistication, especially combined with a thick necklace or delicate jewelry remember, a dress is not in the rule book!
Statement Tops
If you have a budget or just want a maximum style effect with minimal effort, statement tops are your buzzwords! It’s as easy as taking your favorite jeans or pants and letting your top half steal the show. It’s hard to find a statement top that ticks all your boxes, but to make it easier, I’ve listed my favorites below! Mine is vintage, but I have found others that have the same vibe.

Not everything that glitters is gold, even if it certainly makes a statement! One of the biggest trends for New Year’s Eve/festive party that I have seen are sparkling pieces. In other words, the perfect time to get my new Fendi bag out (you may have seen it on my IG).
My feed and blog have been a whirlwind of sparkling pants, shimmering tops and crystal embellishments over the years! And it’s not hard to see why these kinds of style pieces are so popular.
